Yesterday, I went to the airport to pick up my aunt and cousin who came to visit from overseas. As soon as I walked into the airport, I felt overwhelmed by the amount of promotional products that surrounded me. Everywhere I looked, I saw promotional products - everything from luggage tags, to travel bags, to computer bags, to promotional caps and hats, t-shirts and sweatshirts. Maybe it is my job here or maybe it is just that they are everywhere - I cannot seem to get away from promotional products. Usually the wait at the airport is the most nerve-wrecking thing for me - the suspense and anxiety every time the gates open up and someone walks through them - thinking that it may be the guest(s) that I am waiting for. However, this time my usual curiosity with who walks through the gates next was suppressed by my pre-occupation with all of the promotional travel items. After standing there for over an hour and obsessively assessing everyone that came through the gates of JFK terminal one international arrivals, I made a mental list of the top three most popular items for the day.
3 - Computer bags
2 - Rolling travel bags
1 - Promotional luggage tags
As you can imagine, it was quite an exciting day for me yesterday. Not only did I get to see my aunt and cousin who I have missed so much, but I also got a crash course in the most popular promotional travel items.
